Eva was born in a village in 1934, in a village in Portz, Romania. She had two three other sisters, including her twin Miriam. Miriam and Eva attended a one class school together. When she was six years old, the village was occupied by Hungarian Nazis. The whole family had to go to a ghetto. A few weeks later, they were transported to the Auschwitz death camp. Eva and her family didn't get any food for about 70 hours. When they all got to the death camp, her father and two older sisters were taken away. She never saw them again. Eva and her sister got ripped apart from their mother, and they also never saw her again. Eva said that she remembers her mothers worried face when she was taken. The twins became part of a children's group, who were tested on by Dr. Josef Mengele. Everyone was tested on just like guinea pigs. Most of the children died, or were abused. Eva became very ill, but she pushed through it to help Miriam survive.
When everything ended, Eva and Miriam would go and live with their aunt in Romania. After, they immigrated over to Israel, to continue their lives. Eva said that when they got to Israel, they weren't afraid of being Jews anymore.
Eva and Miriam got good education the next few years, and Eva ended up getting married. They moved to America, and Miriam and Eva stayed in touch from then on.
Eva eventually wrote a letter to the Doctor that experimented on her, and she said she forgave him, and all of the other Nazis. The Holocaust is something that is unforgettable, that changed everyones lives.
